Sam (Vocals)

It's been said of him, "He definitely has a set of pipes," and that is true. Now, Sam (Zero) Hudson has a chance to use them as the supercharged and always outgoing front man for "SickleEye." "Singing is my passion; people skills are my job," Zero says. "I love people. I've always been a people person, even as a kid. That's why I love having this gig." Coming from a musically talented family, Zero has a raw natural talent and a love for music. Although Zero may be a rookie as a lead singer, he is no stranger to the stage. Before joining "SickleEye," he performed background vocals for the group "Wolf Creak," and he also formed a short-lived "jam band" in which he played guitar and sang before joining "SickleEye." He also has a background in nonprofessional, dramatic performances. "The absolute greatest highlight of my, so far, short musical career, was being asked to audition for 'SickleEye.'" Zero said, "It's a dream come true of sorts. Joe and Jeremy used to jam together a lot at our house, but I was never allowed to sit in on it. Now here I am years later jammin' right along with them." Zero cites many people as influences in music, but the two that stick out the most are Kurt Cobain and Brooke, Zero's daughter. "Kurt inspires me to be me, and Brooke is the reason I follow this dream. I want to leave her with something that she can feel--something that is as much a part of her as it is of me." I asked Zero to give me one quote that would sum up how he feels about "SickleEye" and his music as a whole, and he said, "Rock On!"
Jason (Drums)

Timing, tempo, and stayin' in the groove. These are just a few of the things that Jason Brookens has to deal with as the drummer for "SickleEye" . . . it's a good thing he loves his job. Jason discovered his love for the kit at age seventeen. "I jammed with a few people in the local area, but nothing official," Jason says. "I also play drums at church." Jason's first official band experience was in the band "Unleashed" where he met guitarist Jeremy and bassist Joe. "I really enjoy playing with those guys and I knew (after the breakup of "Unleashed") that I wanted to again." "SickleEye" was formed in February 2003 by Jason, Joe, and Jeremy, but Jason isn't totally counting out his "Unleashed" days. "I think the most memorable and rewarding part of my musical experience so far, was hearing the title track from 'Changes,' the first album from 'Unleashed', on the radio." Brookens said, "I've also been on a worship album recorded at my church." While he has only been playing for what may seem like a short amount of time, he has gained a lot of practical and technical knowledge about his craft. "Margaret Lucia taught me the basics of Music Theory; Mark Durniak, the worship leader at my church, taught me how to express myself while playing in a structured environment; and I can't forget Carter Beauford, who has inspired and challenged me to be a better drummer." Jason sums up his passion for music in this way: "More than anything else, at the end of the night, I want to know that people enjoyed themselves. Tapping their feet, clapping, dancing, even singing along . . . That makes it all worth it."
Chad (Guitar)

Chad is the new guitar player in sickleeye. He has 20+ years of experience and is well versed in different styles, blues and jazz being his favorites but loves to just rock out also. He was a member of juniper tree for 10+ years which was a band out of the hagerstown area. His influences are everything from B.B. King to Joe Satriani to Phil Keggy to Nuno Bettencourt to Peter Griffin to The Simpsons. "I get influenced by everything, especially life. People can influence you to a certain point but emotion is the ultimate influence. You can play better than the guys listed above but if it has no emotion involved than your just pretending." Chad also is involved with lifehouse church located in hagerstown where he plays acoustic guitar for the worship team. He is excited and thankful to be a part of the sickleeye family and as he puts it, "I am grateful to be a part of this sickleeye deal and very grateful that everyone in the band is cool and dont think their a rockstar. I felt like part of the family before I even strapped on my guitar at the audition. That makes it easy to rock. God Bless".
Fabian (Bass)

Spawn from the deep hails Fabian "The Great" Marroquin! "I started out originally doing lead vocals in my teen years but felt something was lacking so I picked up the guitar. It was most entertaining yet it just wasn't me. Actually I preferred to play classical guitar. While in 420 Gateway our bass player left and we had a show to do. So I decided to lay the lines for that gig and still haven't put her down!!!" Since that time Fabian has played in numerous acts throughout the Central Pennsylvania area. "Music is a passion to me, a desire of profound reward! I see music as a vast Metropolis consisting of various styles. One cannot learn true appreciation for music lest they venture upon these different avenues. So don't cut down what you don't understand!" Trained by ear he's built a great appreciation for various artists. Most notably Cliff Burton, John Paul Jones, Victor Wooten, Robert Trujillo and Adam Clayton. "To me Cliff Burton was probably my biggest inspiration! His approach to music and stage presence was intense with a superb prowess!!! This inspired my onstage aura immensely! Basically you can't tame what's meant to be wild!!!" A veteran to the music business his approach is bold and persistent. "One thing that I demand from my fellow musicians is professionalism. You book a show you'd better be there and ready to sweat sweat sweat!!! These venues invested and are expecting retribution! It's a business, a very brutal business!!!" What does Fabian expect from joining SickleEye? "I must state that the moment I met these gents I could feel the enthusiasm and camaraderie so many other bands had lacked. To me that's Choice!!!! All are gifted in their craft and do so consistently! It is an honor to be accepted into the Brotherhood!!!"
Ryan (Guitar)

I have roughly 15 years experience in music, starting out with the trumpet in elementary school. After a few short years, I found my love for rock guitar after listening to the only tapes my dad had in his Jeep, AC/DC, morning after morning on the way to school. So, obviously, the trumpet wasn't for me anymore. My playing began to develop as I became influenced by Slash, Van Halen, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and Dream Theater and you can really hear it in my playing. It's kind of a melodic rock with some blues licks mashed in. Fast forward a few more years and thousands of hours of practice, some buddies of mine decided to form a band, named Ominous, to compete in the school's battle of the bands and blew away the competition. The band continued to play a few dives and worked our way up to some reputable clubs until some personal differences separated the band. Then came the greatest news I'd ever heard in a long time from one of my old bandmates... SickleEye is looking for a second guitarist! I knew I couldn't pass up the opportunity. I practiced the songs, nailed them at practice, and felt quite at home in the band. They must have agreed because here I am...
